Liton wants to be the captain for a full term if given the opportunity

Liton Das won the ODI series for Bangladesh after receiving the captaincy. He won his debut series as captain by defeating India 2-1. Liton’s side sealed the series by winning the first two of the three-match ODI series against India. Even though they lost the last match to India, the trophy went to the hosts. Captain Liton is excited about the success of the team. Liton said in the press conference that he would like to captain again if the opportunity arises in the future.

Due to the injury of Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal, Liton got the captaincy. And when he got the chance, he fought. Bangladesh won the series. Although the last match had to be lost to India, all in all, captain Liton did not feel bad. He expressed his excitement and enthusiasm for the team's performance in winning the series.

At the press conference, Liton said, "I am very happy to win the series. Everyone in the team has helped me a lot to win this series. Everyone always does. I never feel pressured as a captain. Winning a series for the first time, it doesn't get any bigger. Would have been better if we had won the last match. All in all, not bad. Enjoyed the series."

However, Liton also claimed to the journalists that he believed in winning the series. He also said in the press conference, "I said one thing in the first press conference, we had the belief of winning the series. As if someone asked whether I want to keep the trophy or not, I said of course. As a captain or a cricketer, when you participate, you hope to win such a big series."

Liton has experience of being Captain of the team. He is the co-captain of the Bangladesh Test team. He also captained once in T20 against New Zealand. This time, he is floating in the tide of praise by serving in ODIs in the bilateral series against India. At the press conference, Liton was asked if he wanted to be the captain for the full term or not. Liton replied, "Of course. If BCB gives me a chance, I will. I am very happy to get the opportunity to lead today."

After the ODI series, Bangladesh will play the Test series against India. Bangladesh also wants to do well in Tests. Liton feels that the team will do well in Tests if they can keep the confidence gained from ODIs. However, Shakib Al Hasan will lead Bangladesh in the Test.
